Blues are not happy as Sevilla board close Jules Kounde deal

It seems likely that the Blues could end up with no transfer deadline day signings come 11pm on Tuesday

Chelsea fans are unhappy with director Marina Granovskaia after the latest Jules Kounde update suggests that any potential deal is now off.

Kounde, 22, is keen on moving to west London this summer and has shown this by going AWOL before Sevilla’s draw to Elche in La Liga.

It had initially been reported that a £42million fee was agreed upon between the two clubs, but Monchi has seemingly done a U-turn on the agreement after seeing Kurt Zouma being sold to West Ham for £29.8m.

£68million is now required to unlock this transfer operation, but according to the latest updates, this doesn’t look like happening, with Granovskaia seemingly unhappy at the Andalusian-based clubs’ decision to break the verbal agreement.

Angelo Mangiante of Sky Italia has tweeted: “Updates on Koundé.

“From Sevilla no opening to Chelsea’s offer. The deal is closed for the Sevilla board.”

Here is how a selection of Blues fans reacted to the latest developments as Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Bettinelli seem to be the only incomings this summer for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

@cfccoe1 stated: ‘This is what happens when you wait until the last few days to do business

@PilbeamScotty tweeted: ‘Then this deal is not happening we will not pay the full amount for him. Maybe get him in January or next summer either way Sevilla will have a player that doesn’t want to be with them.’

@CFC_Fareed is gutted like many other supporters: ‘Can’t believe we actually bottled it.’

@finnparker joked: ‘Open and closed FC. ‘He tweeted: ‘Sold a top defender for nothing nice. I liked Zouma so much and now I know we sold him for nothing makes me more sad.’
