West Ham is planning to sign a defender from PSG this summer for €20 million.

According to reports, Abdou Diallo will be a target for West Ham United during the summer transfer window despite PSG’s €20 million asking price.
West Ham United is reportedly interested in moving for Abdou Diallo during the summer transfer window, according to a report by Media Foot Marseille. For the Senegalese international to leave Paris Saint-Germain, the French club will ask for about €20 million.

Abdou Diallo spent a year with Borussia Dortmund before signing for Paris Saint-Germain in July 2019. But in the last three seasons, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe, and Sergio Ramos have all been preferred above the 26-year-old to a spot in the first-team squad at Parc des Princes.

The Senegalese international has only played 75 times for PSG so far, appearing an average of 25 times per season. And given PSG’s desire to acquire Milan Skriniar, things for Diallo could get even worse. He may be able to leave PSG by way of West Ham United.

Given that West Ham United has previously hired Nayef Aguerd, their interest is a little bit unexpected. But Issa Diop’s future with the Hammers at the London Stadium is doubtful.

This summer, Fulham has expressed interest in signing Diop, and his departure will free up a position in West Ham’s defense. It is also obvious why the east Londoners have set their sights on recruiting Diallo from PSG before the 2022–23 season given that Angelo Ogbonna is well into his 30s.

The Senegalese international is valued at €20 million, with PSG willing to recover just slightly more than half of the money they spent to get him three years ago. Despite the pricey purchases of Aguerd and Gianluca Scamacca, West Ham United may be able to come up with €20 million.

Diallo is a target for both West Ham and Stade Rennais, so the Hammers will have competition to get the 26-year-old. Given the interest in Diallo from West Ham and Rennes, it will be intriguing to see if PSG can recuperate the €20 million they desire from his sale.
