Following a “last-minute surprise,” Man Utd makes a “offer” for a £58 million Spain international.

According to rumours, Man Utd of the Premier League has made an offer to RB Leipzig to sign offensive midfielder Dani Olmo to an Old Trafford contract.

With many players being linked to the Red Devils in the summer transfer window, they are looking for ways to strengthen their roster.

Christian Eriksen and Casemiro were both permitted to join the team in the summer, but there are still rumors that Erik ten Hag wants to improve his midfield even further.

Man Utd’s 1-0 victory over Wolves propelled them into the top four, and thanks to Tottenham’s loss yesterday, they are now two points ahead of fifth place with a game remaining.

And according to the Spanish tabloid Nacional, who claims that Man Utd and Bayern Munich have made a “offer” for the player, Ten Hag might build on that by signing RB Leipzig’s Olmo in January.

According to the publication, there was a “last-minute surprise” that prevented Barcelona from signing Olmo in the previous winter transfer market. Xavi is alleged to have “refused and rejected the deal” because he thought it was too pricey.

Olmo can now be pursued by other interested teams in January as a result of the failed €65 million (£58 million) transaction, with Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, and AC Milan all ‘considering putting a formal bid for him,’ according to reports.

Additionally, according to Nacional, Olmo has “offers” on the table from Manchester United and Bayern Munich, and Olmo’s old coach Julian Nagelsmann is eager to reunite with the Spaniard.

Olmo, 24, is viewed by Man Utd as a “very fascinating reinforcement” and is thought to be the ideal replacement for Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo.

Paul Scholes has expressed his admiration for Casemiro and Eriksen, two recent additions who have greatly contributed to United’s strong recent run.

“I simply believe he’s brought fantastic experience to the centre of the pitch, wonderful talent, I’ve mentioned before his passing shocks me, his one-touch passing,” Scholes remarked to BT Sport (via the Manchester Evening News). He makes a lot of forward passes, making it simple to blend in a little bit in a midfield with [Luka] Modric and [Toni] Kroos.

“He’s been great,’ I was concerned about his size and legs when he arrived in England; he never struck me as being very swift, but he’s so intelligent and excels in the job. He’s a Rolls Royce of a player, so I don’t want to compare him to Michael Carrick, but he plays every position well.

“He’s fantastic for Eriksen as well, he’s been a really nice addition,” Scholes said. If they don’t have a player like Casemiro who performs all the grunt work, they can’t play as they want to.

If you want to score a lot of goals, you need a guy like that on your squad, say these offensive players. The players in front of him, [Bruno] Fernandes and Eriksen, just care about scoring goals; they don’t bother about defending because they have a guy next to them. When you have it right there next to you, there is no finer sensation.
