Phil Hay, a talented Leeds United player who was spotted on vacation this week, is to play again

Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams is “unlikely” to feature before the end of this season as he recovers from hamstring surgery.

The Whites are gearing up for a vital trip to Fulham this weekend, off the back of two seriously damaging home defeats to Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

Leeds’ defense has come under immense scrutiny recently, shipping 16 goals in the last four games, coinciding with Max Wöber’s absence as well as Tyler Adams who has now missed five games.

What injury does Adams have?

Adams has been absent ever since Leeds’ 2-2 draw against Brighton having picked up a hamstring injury that ended up requiring surgery.

There hasn’t been a timescale given on the matter, but the midfielder is no closer to completing his rehabilitation at Thorp Arch, given he was seen on his Instagram enjoying a short trip to Lake Como in Italy:

Will Adams play again this season?

As Leeds’ midfield also comes under pressure for their performances lately, the question remains whether Adams will be back fit for any involvement in the club’s relegation run-in.

However, Phil Hay has dropped a worrying update on the USMNT captain prior to today’s kick-off against Fulham.

Writing in a Q&A with The Athletic, he stated:

Patrick Bamford has a chance of being back in the squad after injury but there’s still no Tyler Adams. It looks increasingly unlikely that he’ll be back before the season ends.

Could it be that we’ve already seen the last of Adams in a Leeds shirt?

If we end up being relegated, then the midfielder will surely be one of the first out of the door, given his performances this season and the likely interest in him.

It’s such a shame that we’re missing arguably our best midfielder this season for such an important period of the season, given how poor our current midfield pivot has been in the last two.
