West Ham set to make changes v Manchester City as illness spreads – report

David Moyes will be forced to make changes to the West Ham team for Wednesday night’s game against Manchester City, according to an update from ExWHUEmployee.

It has been claimed that illness has impacted the camp ahead of another crucial Premier League clash, in the first outing since the 4-3 loss at Crystal Palace.

Moyes’ men will be up against it, against a formidable City side who can go top of the table with a win.

Given the demands of the domestic and European campaigns, as well as prioritizing certain fixtures, the manager will be expected to shuffle his pack, as intimated by this West Ham Way report.

“The only key notable absentees tonight are Gianluca Scamacca and Kurt Zouma, however, ExWHUEmployee has reported on Patreon that some are ‘considered a doubt’ with knocks and illnesses picked up during this week.”

Upsets can happen, but that is what anything other than a home win at the Etihad Stadium would represent, given what is on the line for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Moyes would dearly love to snatch a point, to edge his team closer to safety but the extent of the challenge is clear.

Recent results have gone in the Hammers’ favor, resulting in a cushion of four points over the danger zone which has to be maintained. Two wins from the remaining five fixtures should be more than enough to secure the club’s top-flight status for another campaign.

It will be interesting to see what the starting line-up looks like tonight, in the latest challenge of a relentless campaign that still could end with success.

Clinching Premier League safety, early, would be the perfect launch pad to go on and claim the Europa Conference League, with gains to be fought for in the two games that precede the return to Euro action.
