‘They had a deal,’ Romano recalls, adding that Wolves persuaded the 26-year-old to come but offered a ‘terrible’ bid.

‘They had an agreement,’ claims Fabrizio Romano, who claims Wolves persuaded the 26-year-old to sign but offered a ‘terrible’ offer Wolves attempted to sign Boulaye Dia on the deadline day, and Romano has now provided some additional details on his YouTube channel.

On Friday, Wanderers made a last-minute attempt to get a second striker.

They believed that Che Adams was the player they really desired.

Wolves had to search elsewhere since Southampton prevented his exit.

They also attempted a last-minute attempt to sign Dia from Salernitana, but the Italian club turned down their offer.

The club’s sporting director gave an unprecedented public speech last night criticizing Wolves for trying to sign Dia.

Romano has finally revealed what he knows about the circumstance.

Wolves had persuaded Boulaye Dia, but the concept was ‘awful.’

We will not forget what Wolves did' - Salernitana accuse Premier League side of causing 'diplomatic incident' with deadline-day bid for Boulaye Dia | Goal.com Nigeria

“We received a phone call late on Thursday night with talk of a loan with the option to buy for figures that, if I were to make public, would cause a diplomatic incident,” Sporting director Morgan de Sanctis stated yesterday (via Goal). None of their directors personally approached me. Dia was affected by this. I anticipate the player to realize how much we have given him, because we desire a rapport of mutual respect and hope to continue as we have in the last 12 months.”

Romano has now addressed the situation.

He claims that Wolves persuaded the player to join them, posing a ‘trouble’ for Salernitana.

“So he mentions that Wolverhampton presented a horrible proposal for Boulaye Dia in the final hours of the market, creating a problem,” he remarked on YouTube. Because they had made a deal with the athlete. They persuaded the player. The player intended to fight and cause trouble for Salernitana. However, the bid was insufficient to persuade the Italian club.

“The Italian club is enraged with Wolves.” However, this demonstrates how, in the final 24 hours of the market, a player may push to leave the club. But, in the end, the correct proposition is required; it is not just about convincing the player; it is also about respect for the organization.”

Boulaye Dia issue is intriguing.

Wolves appeared to be betting on Dia making a big enough fuss to convince Salernitana to transfer Dia on deadline day.

You can see why the Italian club is upset.

Dia is an important player for them, and they were never going to let him go in the dying hours of the market.

Especially on a loan basis, which appears to be Wolves’ suggestion.

In the upcoming months, it will be intriguing to observe what happens with Dia.

He may try to join Wolves once more in January.

However, Salernitana are dissatisfied with Wolves and might outright decline to do business.
