CONFIRMED: Hugo Ekitike readies move after PSG inform striker he must leave | FootballTransfers US

Journalist Dean Jones recently revealed why Paris Saint-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike may be ‘out of reach’ in an interview with GIVEMESPORT. Crystal Palace attempted to sign a striker during the summer transfer window.

It will be interesting to see if the Eagles come to regret not adding a new player up front.

Hugo Ekitike – Crystal Palace News
In the summer transfer window, Ekitike seemed to be leaving PSG. A number of veteran players, including Ekitike, were among those that PSG would permit to leave, according to French journalist Fabrice Hawkins. Despite considerable interest from the Premier League, Ekitike was unable to leave the club. According to writer Sami Mokbel, a deal between Palace and the teenage forward during the summer transfer window never materialized. It’s said that Ekitike might have been purchased for £34 million, which might have turned away some prospective buyers.

Due to his lack of playing time at PSG thus far this season, it wouldn’t be surprising to see clubs approach Ekitike in January. According to FBref, the 21-year-old has only played nine minutes of Ligue 1 football. Journalist Jones earlier told GIVEMESPORT that Palace feels internally that their present choices put them in a solid position, even though they ultimately decided not to purchase a striker. Ekitike is far from perfect at his age, but he would have given Palace a different attacking dimension.

It could be a wise move for Palace to try to complete a deal if Ekitike is available again in the winter window, which seems plausible given his paucity of playing time. It won’t be simple, though, and it wouldn’t be surprising if additional clubs entered the contest. The young player has already showed great promise for his age, which is one of the reasons PSG, a European powerhouse, decided to recruit him initially.

Will Ekitike regard Crystal Palace as inferior to him? Denton Jones
Ekitike might not be interested in moving down to a mid-table Premier League team after joining one of the most well-known clubs in the world. However, the 21-year-old has trouble getting a role.
