It’s Official: Rangers-linked free-agent has decides his future

Oussama Idrissi, who has been linked with Rangers and Manchester United, has joined Mexican club Pachuca after being released by Sevilla.

The Moroccan international, 27, has put an end to speculation linking him with a move to Old Trafford, despite much uncertainty regarding Anthony and Jason Sancho’s futures.

Meanwhile, once the transfer market closed, Football Scotland predicted that Rangers would make a move for the player, despite the fact that the club had not to replace Ryan Kent’s influence.

However, Oussama Idrissi will now play in Liga MX this season, with the player’s agent confirming the deal earlier this week.

“Mexican outfit Pachuca made an offer,” says Anas El Gouache to Sport24. “And the contract with Idrissi has already been signed.”

The player has since been formally announced.

Oussama Idrissi moves to Mexico

While a Rangers move for the winger never appeared likely, Oussama Idrissi has emerged as one of the latest free-agent names to fill the transfer void following a quiet end to the transfer window.

Several names were suggested as prospective targets as the Ibrox side stumbled into the previous international break, but it’s evident that Rangers are not looking to the free-agent market.

Eden Hazard, who is still a free agent after leaving Real Madrid, is the most ambitious name suggested, but there have been others.

Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard, who is currently on trial in Saudi Arabia, was also mentioned, as was Anwar El Ghazi, who was released by PSV Eindhoven.

Rangers manager Michael Beale is undoubtedly to fault for the majority of these entirely unconfirmed rumors, according to comments he made near the close of the transfer window.

The Rangers manager stated the club has yet to replace Ryan Kent’s influence in the transfer window, though he did challenge someone from his squad to step up.

Rabbi Matondo has developed as a crucial player for Rangers since then, and as highly-rated as Oussama Idrissi has been in his career, he’d have to hit the ground running to unseat the form Welshman.
