Leicester City Player Admits ‘Laughing’ At His Teammate

Leicester City Player Admits ‘Laughing’ At Summer Transfer Rumours
Wilfred Ndidi, a Leicester City midfielder, has admitted that he ‘laughed at’ transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the King Power Stadium this summer.

The Nigeria international was linked with a move away from the former Premier League champions during the previous transfer window, which closed three weeks ago. Bayern Munich, according to the German outlet Kicker, is interested in signing the player.
Just days before the deadline, talkSPORT reported that Nottingham Forest were in pole position to sign Ndidi and were closing in on a deal to bring the 26-year-old to the City Ground, handing Enzo Maresca a severe blow.

Nonetheless, no deal was struck, and Forest instead signed PSV Eindhoven midfield general Ibrahim Sangare, while Ndidi remained at Leicester City to help Maresca’s side return to the top flight.
Ndidi recently told the When You’re Smiling Podcast that he never intended to leave Leicester City and admits to ‘laughing’ at certain rumors [quotes via Nottinghamshire Live]:

“To be honest, no, because when he (Maresca) arrived, he tried to explain his philosophy as well as the simplicity of the game, and I just feel like it’s something I can learn from.”

“I’ve been willing to learn more about his philosophy and game style, and it’s been going well.” I’m relieved that I’m here.

Author’s Opinion

The allegations linking Ndidi to moves to Nottingham Forest and Bayern Munich appeared to be true at the time, but the player later denied them.

It’s unclear whether Ndidi is merely stating this to appease Leicester City fans, but until one of his suitors confirms the claims, it’s best to take the player at his word.
